In 2009, a single event changed the world of finance forever, with some people riding the wave to profit hugely and others looking on in absolute confusion.
Bitcoin was created as a way to invisibly transfer money from any person in any place to anyone else anywhere in the world from your phone with no central bank or government oversight, which was brilliant for criminals and made it the most useful way to pay for drugs, guns or other illegal products which obviously made it a target for governments around the world and even after more than a decade, they still have not been able to control this new technology and even now discuss openly utilising the core technology in future global finance.
Huge corporations, young teenagers, and millions of people between have joined this evolution and together brought it much more accepted and mainstream but haqve come to realise that it will never be a currency due to high transaction costs and extremely small capacity of up to 5000 times less than traditional methodologies.
This new tech opened the doors to many thousands of "Crap" coins, usually based on Etherium blockchain technology and costing less than a decent coffee to establish in a basement with crazy White Papers raising millions of dollars in ICO offerings only to fund Ferraris for the founders and leaving many millions of people out of pocket, some losing their life savings or kids college fund on the dreams of a tech savvy but totally inexperienced young kid.
Throughout this past few decades we haver also seen local branches of banks close to save money by using mobile apps and ATM machines to dispense cash where needed, and in modern times we can look forward to governments replacing cash and banks with Central Bank Digital Currencies which can easily be programmed to control what you can buy and from whom, and even cut off your access to money if yopu do not comply with government ideologies which is a very bad situation for Freedom loving public.
